Promark Classic FireGrain Stick Bundle Review

Practical Buying Guide

Introduction:

If you need a few new pairs of drumsticks, you’ll get the best bang for your buck when buying a bundle. There are plenty of bundle deals out there, with Sweetwater offering some incredible ones.

One of our favorites is the Promark Classic FireGrain Stick Bundle, as it comes with four pairs of sticks as well as a bag to carry them in.

We’re going to take a deeper look into why we think this bundle has such high value, and we’ll explain if it’s a good option for you.

Key Features:

This bundle comes with four pairs of drumsticks that offer slightly different features and build qualities. The great thing about it is that you get a variety of options, making the bundle suitable for a wider range of drummers.

It includes a nylon carry bag to keep the sticks in. This bag is just large enough to hold the four pairs of sticks, and it can’t hold any more than that.

The key feature of the FireGrain sticks is that they’ve been heat-tempered to add durability.

Promark Classic FireGrain Stick Bundle Review:

What To Expect from This Bundle

Quality

The bundle comes with the following sticks:

2x Promark Hickory Forward 5A
Promark FireGrain Forward 5A
Promark FireGrain Rebound 5A

All four pairs of sticks are very well-made, with the FireGrain pairs being a lot more durable than the standard hickory pairs.

The bundle also comes with a simple nylon carrying bag. It isn’t anything special, but it’s a reliable bag to hold your sticks in if you don’t already have one.

Promark is a top-quality drumstick brand, so every product you get in this bundle has excellent design quality.

Construction

The four pairs of drumsticks offer different types of construction quality. The standard Forward 5As are made from hickory wood, and they feel similar to how most 5A drumsticks feel.

They’re highly versatile in their design, and most drummers tend to get comfortable with them quickly.

The other two pairs of sticks have gone through Promark’s heat-tempering process. This makes them a lot more durable, meaning they don’t break as quickly as the standard hickory sticks do.

Three of the pairs of sticks have a typical 5A design with a 0.551” diameter, while the one pair of FireGrain sticks is a bit thicker and weighted heavier at the base.

Performance

The best thing about this bundle is that most drummers enjoy how 5A drumsticks feel, so most drummers will get value from it. The Forward 5A drumsticks feel easy on the hands, and they’re great for all styles of music.

As we said earlier, the FireGrain versions will just last a bit longer.

The pair of Rebound 5As are a bit more interesting in their performance. These sticks are designed for more finessed playing. With the sticks being a bit heavier at the base, they allow you to play more articulate patterns around the drums.

They’re fantastic for drummers that love to play with speed and tight accuracy.

Price Value Ratio

If you were to just look at the four pairs of drumsticks, it would mean that you’d save a few dollars by getting them in this set instead of separately. However, it’s the inclusion of the stick bag that makes this bundle extremely valuable.

While it’s not the biggest stick bag out there, it comfortably holds the four parts of sticks that come in this bundle. You’re getting plenty of value for your money, and you can continue to use the stick bag after the included sticks eventually break.

FAQ:

Is Promark a Good Drumstick Brand?

Promark is an excellent drumstick brand. The company is one of the three best stick companies in the drumming industry, with the other two being Vater and Vic Firth.

How Long Do Promark Drumsticks Last?

It depends on the drummer that is using them. Some drummers play very lightly, and they hardly break any of their drumsticks. Other drummers go through multiple pairs of sticks every gig.

With that being said, Promark’s FireGrain sticks tend to last a bit longer than other sticks that share the same designs. Their durability is their biggest selling point. The cool colors are just a bonus.

Conclusion

We strongly suggest getting the Classic FireGrain Stick Bundle if you need a few new pairs of sticks. This package offers so much value, and the stick bag is just the icing on the cake.

The only thing that would make the bundle better is if all the sticks were FireGrain versions. However, it’s clever that you get standard 5As, as not all drummers are as into the FireGrain sticks as we are.

The Rebound 5A drumsticks may also take a bit of time to get used to, as they feel very different from the Forward 5A sticks.
