Promark Everyday Stick Bag Review

Practical Buying Guide

Introduction:

A drumstick bag is something that every drummer should own. It’s the most convenient thing to have to store all your sticks, whether you keep them at home or take them out with you to play gigs.

The problem is that some stick bags are incredibly pricey when a lot of drummers are just looking for something simple and affordable.

The Promark Everyday Stick Bag is one of those bags aimed at these types of drummers. It’s a simplistic bag that works very well. Here’s our in-depth review of everything it offers.

Key Features:

The Promark Everyday stick bag has a waterproof design that is made to protect your drumsticks as much as possible. The material is nylon fabric, which is what makes the bag so affordable and light.

It has a standard stick bag design, including two sections to place your sticks when it’s open, along with a few pockets to place things like drum keys, earphones, and metronomes.

The bag also has thin ropes that allow you to hang it on your floor tom. This lets you rest the bag on the floor tom and have all your drumsticks ready to be used.

In terms of coloring, the bag is mostly black, but it has a yellow Promark logo on the front.

For exact specs, the bag is 1 inch deep, 18 inches long, and 15 inches wide when you open it up. It’s 7.5 inches long when you keep it closed.

Promark Everyday Stick Bag Review:

What To Expect from This Bag

Quality

We’d say the overall quality of this stick bag is very reliable. It does everything that you’d expect a stick bag to do, and most drummers won’t find that they need anything more from it.

You could fit up to ten pairs of sticks inside, but it would mostly depend on how thick the sticks are. There’s more than enough space to fit as many sticks as any drummer would need for a single show.

Every major stick brand has an affordable stick bag option like this, and we think the quality of this Promark one is very good.

Construction

The construction quality is exactly what you’d expect from a bag at this price point. It’s made from nylon fabric, and the biggest benefit of that is that it’s light. This makes carrying the bag around very easy.

The other benefit of this fabric is that it makes the bag extremely affordable. Most other materials used to make stick bags tend to boost their price.

There are downsides, though. Durability isn’t something that you should expect from a nylon fabric stick bag. Most of them only last a few years before the pockets start to tear or the zips stop working.

High-end stick bags last very long, whereas low-end bags like this aren’t designed to last decades of heavy use.

You have to be very careful of sharp objects with bags like this, as they can easily tear through the material.

Performance

The straps that come with the bag allow you to attach the bag to your floor tom. You can then open the bag up to have all your sticks at arm’s reach. From a performance perspective, that’s the most important feature that every stick bag should have.

The straps here make it very easy to put the bag in that position. You can also secure them tightly enough for the bag not to budge when you play on the floor tom heavily.

However, the lower durability of the bag affects its performance somewhat. It will work for the first few years of playing gigs, but those straps may give you issues after a while, especially if you’re someone who gigs frequently.

Price Value Ratio

You can’t beat the price of the Promark Everyday Stick Bag. That’s why it’s such a good option to consider. Not every drummer needs a heavy-duty bag that will last decades of lengthy tours.

If you just want something affordable to hold your sticks, this is one of your best options. You could even buy two or three of them to keep in different places, seeing as the purchase price is so affordable.

If you’re looking for durability, you may not find as much value in this bag as you would in one that was made from better materials, such as leather.

Things To Consider:

Promark Every Day Stick Bag for Studio Recording

The Promark Every Day Stick Bag is the ideal option to have in a recording studio environment. There will never be a lot of movement in a studio, so a bag like this may just last decades there.

If you have a drum kit that drummers come to record on, you could keep spare sticks in the bag in case they need any.

Most drummers bring their own stick bag, though. If you’re on the other side and you’re going to record drums in the studio, this bag will work perfectly for you.

Promark Every Day Stick Bag for a Live Gig

This stick bag works just as well when traveling to live gigs. It just doesn’t last as long as higher-quality stick bags. It also doesn’t offer anything enticing. All stick bags have a place for your sticks and accessories.

If you’re a gigging drummer who needs a solid bag to hold a lot of things, this one may be too light and flimsy.

Conclusion

Promark offers much better stick bags than this one, but this particular is an excellent option for beginner drummers or drummers who just want a cheap bag to hold their sticks in.

It’s large enough to hold a good number of sticks, and it’s affordable enough to buy a few of them for different purposes.

If you want a good stick bag without bells and whistles, the Promark Everyday bag is a solid option to consider.

If you want something a bit more durable, check out Promark’s higher-priced options.
