Earthworks DK7-C High-impact Case Review:
What To Expect from This Case
Quality
The overall quality of this carry case is amazing. It’s designed for high impacts, meaning it’s durable enough to protect all the mics inside, even if it falls down a flight of stairs.
This makes it perfect to travel with, as you’ll have peace of mind when storing it with airplane luggage.
It also just works well to keep your microphones stored when you’re not using them.
Construction
We’re not entirely sure what kind of plastic the case is made from, but it feels very solid. The foam inside the case is also soft, yet firm, keeping the microphones from shifting when they’re in position.
We also love the carry handle. It feels comfortable to hold, even when all the mics are in the case to make it heavier.
All Earthworks microphones have incredible construction quality, and you get the exact same thing here with the DK7-C High-Impact Case.
Performance
This case works well for every situation. If you need something to store all your microphones in to take to a gig, it works wonderfully. If you need something to just store your mics in at home, it works even better.
However, it’s only designed to work with Earthworks microphones. You can’t use this case if you have mics from another brand, as the foam cut-outs inside the case won’t cater to their shapes.
This makes the case a lot less versatile than many others, but it’s definitely your best option if you use Earthworks mics. Especially because it caters to the gooseneck designs of the Earthworks drum microphones.
Price Value Ratio
We won’t lie – this case is quite expensive for something that just holds your microphones. But that’s to be expected from Earthworks, as all of their products are on the pricier side.
However, this case will easily last many decades without ever breaking. So, you only need to pay the price once, and then you’ll have a carry case for life.
So, the price is worth the value it offers, in our opinion.
