If you’re looking for reliable and inexpensive hardware for your drum kit, look no further than Gibraltar. While the brand has some pristine high-end options, it’s all the affordable Gibraltar stands that are really popular.

In this review, we’re going to check out the Gibraltar 4706 4000 Lightweight Snare Drum Stand. It’s a fantastic stand for any drummer to get, and we’re going to explain why.

Key Features:

The Gibraltar Lightweight Snare Drum Stand has a low weight to make it easier to travel and play gigs with. While it’s light, it’s also very sturdy.

It has double-braced legs with a tripod design, and it has a wing nut to adjust the placement settings for the snare basket. It then has a gear tilter for adjusting the snare angle.

Gibraltar 4706 4000 Snare Drum Stand Review:

What To Expect from This Stand

Quality

For a budget snare drum stand, this one has surprisingly good quality. A lot of snare drums in this price range tend to feel a bit flimsy, and their tilters don’t lock very securely.

This stand offers fantastic reliability, and it works brilliantly with most snare drums. It’s great to have a light snare stand with double-braced legs, as you get a bit more sturdiness than the ones with single-braced legs.

Also, the nylon collar inserts feel fantastic, and they keep the noise of your snare drum hardware very low.

Construction

You would assume that this stand feels a bit flimsy due to it being a low-weight option, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

Most drummers would be happy with the construction quality, as it’s superbly reliable.

The rubber feet at the base of each leg also feel fantastic, and they ensure that the snare drum never moves.

The only downside when it comes to construction is that the snare basket arms are a bit thin. That’s not an issue for light snare drums, but it stops the stand from being able to comfortably hold snare drums with weighty metal shells.

Performance

The performance quality of this snare drum stand is excellent. There isn’t too much to mention about drum hardware when it comes to performance, as you just want things to work well.

This snare stand works incredibly well, especially if you’re only using it to hold a snare with a wooden shell.

As we said earlier, you’ll start feeling a dip in performance quality when you try to place a heavy snare drum on it. It will start to wobble a bit, and it can sometimes topple over if you’re not careful about widening the feet.

Price Value Ratio

The price is the best part of this snare drum stand. It’s one of the most affordable snare drum stands available, making it an excellent buying option for any drummer on a tight budget.

It’s quite common to buy a drum kit that doesn’t come with hardware, so you need to look to products like this to have a full setup. By getting an affordable stand, you can spend more of your budget elsewhere.

It’s also an excellent affordable option for gigging drummers that don’t want to take their main snare drum stand out on the road. This is a lot lighter to carry, and the fact that it’s light on the wallet makes it even better.

Conclusion

We’d say that this is an excellent snare drum stand for drummers of all levels, as long as you’re placing a standard wooden snare on it. The heavier your snare is, the more it will wobble.

If you’re looking for something really heavy-duty, you’ll need to consider getting a snare drum stand that is a bit more expensive and that has heavier parts.

This is a great secondary stand to have in that case, as carrying a heavy stand to gigs can  weigh you down quite a bit.
